What is the deal with the pervasive presence of cakes in contemporary art?!?! I guess the cake has become a symbol of the frivolous and gluttonous decadence of Western capitalistic society. My opinion of cakes is that they always look like they would taste better than they actually do. But on further thought, most things in life are like that. I wish insatiability would get medicalized so I can get a pill for it.
